In the aftermath of last night's results, the mainstream media has spent more time than ever pointing out the lack of clear Republican leadership. Our sitting president has the lowest approval ratings in presidential history, and the Republican ticket was just defeated with a popular vote margin unseen by any Democrat since the Johnson/Goldwater race (an oddly fitting tribute to Arizona's senate seat).
With the Republican party in disarray, paradoxically Democrats may have an opportunity to contribute to creating the opponents that they want - by choosing who to legitimize among the remaining Republican leadership.
